- A Young People's Life of the Buddha
by Bhikkhu Silacara (Singapore Buddhist Meditation Centre; 1953; 256k/80pp.) - An account of the life of the Buddha in language that many young adults will find accessible. Although the book is probably too long for most children and it suffers from a few dense and dated passages, much of it brings the Buddha's life and times vividly to life on the page, and would be eminently suited for reading aloud to younger children.
